Bale shredding (stone wool)
Bale shredding is used to first loosen and then grind compressed stone wool bales. For this purpose, bales are fed by a stacker through a safety lattice gate onto a roller conveyor and, if necessary, brought into the desired position by a tipping station. After tipping, the fed bales are separated by two conveyor belts. so that wires can be loosened and removed manually, and then conveyed to the bale opener, where they are loosened and shredded. The pre-shredded material falls through a discharge chute onto another conveyor, which transports the material to a silo plant. In order to separate or retain ferrous foreign bodies, the material is thrown in the form of a discharge parabola against a permanent magnet inside the silo plant. The stone wool is stored in the silo and can be discharged as required. The discharge from the silo plant is carried out by a circular scraper installed inside the silo plant.
The material is then conveyed via a rotary valve, which serves as an air seal and is located below the silo plant, into another transport unit. The pre-shredded mineral wool pieces are separated from the transport air via a filter with the help of a baffle wall and a chain curtain and then fall onto a triple discharge floor located below. Transport air is subsequently cleaned with filter cartridges and discharged into the atmosphere via an exhaust duct. The material is transported via the transport screw of the triple discharge floor and a rotary valve and enters the inclined belt feeder. The mineral wool is weighed by means of an inclined belt feeder and subsequent belt weigher and continuously fed to the FAS mono-grinder, then processed and discharged into the dosing buffer. Here, the material is then discharged on demand into the chute to the mixer, continuously and reacting to possible fluctuations.
